Open Projects to create a blank job, or choose Upload & organize plans to upload a full plan set and schedules. Upload & organize plans prepares editable rooms, clear plan-sheet titles, room assignments, listed products and official manufacturer documents, then waits for contractor approval.
Choose suggested rooms or enter custom names. Create separate areas whenever the field information, plan pages or selections are different.
Pick Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Tile or another common category before each upload, or create your own. Use General for information everyone in the room should see.
Choose the large PDF locally, then click thumbnails or say “Only upload pages 3, 7 and 15.” BuildTether adds only those sheets to the selected trade in the room instead of uploading the entire plan set.
Open an uploaded plan or picture inside Studio. Draw directly on it or add text for dimensions, fixture locations, tile layouts and corrections. The marked-up copy keeps the original trade category.
For a walkthrough, open Field Camera, speak while taking pictures, and say each room name as you move. AI matches each picture to the timed speech and prepares its room, trade, priority, note and caption. Review, keep or discard every picture, then approve. Use Smart Field Notes for one quick spoken or typed instruction.
Set each item for Field QR, Project Team, Owner/Client or Contractor Only. This keeps public field directions separate from private project discussions.
Download the room QR code, print it and post it where work happens. The printed code stays the same while the room information keeps updating and stays organized by trade.
Use QR Tools for products, websites, online manuals, documents, contacts or custom information that should not be connected to a particular room. These tools always remain free.
Review Team Member submissions, approve changes and replace outdated information. Everyone who scans sees the latest approved version.
Add the employee names and private PINs, then print one shared time-clock QR for the job entrance. Employees can save their personal clock link for faster access, but no download is required: they can scan the shared QR, choose their name, enter their PIN and clock in or out. If someone forgets, use Manager time correction to enter the actual time and reason.
Open Gantt schedule and upload the contractor estimate. Choose the intended start date and add known crew, delivery or deadline information. BuildTether reads the estimate for work scope—not cost output—and combines it with the plans and project record. AI predicts activity durations, dated starts and finishes, parallel work, inspection gates, milestones and the critical path. Review the first draft, then add, remove, rename, resequence or edit activities and predecessor IDs before approval. During the job, speak or type what changed. Review the AI suggestion, apply only the correct changes, approve the current schedule, then print it as one 24 × 36 master or tiled letter sheets.

BuildTether keeps a construction project’s plans, specifications, photos, notes, approvals and schedule connected to the room or job where the work happens. Start in Projects: create a blank project yourself, or use Plan organizer to prepare a contractor-review draft from the approved plan set and schedules.
No. A trade, owner or visitor can scan an approved room QR code with the normal phone camera and open it in a browser. Contractors and invited Team Members can also save BuildTether to their phone home screen for quicker access.
Each room has one permanent QR code. It opens the current room page, where approved plans, photos, notes and product information are organized by trade. Update the room in BuildTether and the same printed code shows the new approved information—no reprinting is needed.
No. Open the room and choose Select exact pages from a large PDF. Pick the thumbnails or identify the pages you need, then assign only those sheets to the correct room and trade. Keep the complete original plan set in the project record.
It can propose room names, split and name plan sheets, assign relevant sheets to rooms, identify listed products and locate official manufacturer documents. Treat the result as a draft. The contractor must verify revisions, stamped plans, approved submittals, manufacturer instructions, code requirements and field conditions before relying on it.
Use Field Camera for a walkthrough with several pictures and spoken context. Use Smart Field Notes for one focused instruction with optional photos. Use Daily Logs for the day’s weather, manpower, progress, delays, photos and possible schedule impacts. Review AI suggestions before anything becomes part of the approved record.
Yes. Open the file in Studio, add drawings, arrows, shapes or text, and save the markup as a separate copy. The original remains available so the team can distinguish the source document from later field direction.
Upload the contractor estimate and choose the intended start date. BuildTether uses scope and sequence clues—not estimate pricing—to prepare an editable schedule with activities, dependencies, milestones, float and a critical path. The contractor reviews and approves every version and can print the Gantt on a plan-size sheet or letter-size tiles.
No. A typed or spoken field update can produce a suggested schedule revision, but BuildTether does not change the official timeline until the contractor reviews the proposal, applies the correct changes and approves the new version.
Yes. The Business workspace supports estimates, quotes, bid requests, room measurements and editable workbooks. You can work from your own company style and review regional price references before using them. Pricing references are aids for contractor review, not automatic final prices.
Use a room QR code for approved room information, a share link when appropriate, or Team & client access for a controlled project portal. Invited people can submit questions, files or updates, while the contractor decides what becomes part of the official project record.
Yes. Set each item to Field QR, Project Team, Owner/Client or Contractor Only. Public QR pages display only information approved for that audience. Internal notes, employee records, billing and operations remain behind the private Studio sign-in.
One shared time-clock QR can serve the crew. Each employee selects their name and uses a private PIN. BuildTether requests one location reading only when a punch is submitted; it does not track employees in the background. A manager can correct a missed punch with the actual time and a reason, and the correction stays in the audit trail.
Standalone QR Tools remain free after sign-in. A management trial begins only after you select a paid plan, add a card and confirm checkout. You can cancel from Account before the trial ends to avoid the first charge, or cancel later to stop the next renewal. Access continues through the paid period already covered.
Canceling stops renewal; it does not immediately erase the project record. After paid access ends, the workspace is read-only for 30 days and project data is retained for up to 90 days for reactivation. If you want permanent removal, submit the separate verified deletion request in Account.
